Home Guarantee Scheme

Please note Gateway will not be offering construction loans under the Home Guarantee Scheme.

Please note the following waterfall of Guarantees will be applied by Gateway Bank:
o Where a borrower is eligible for the RFHBG or Family Home Guarantee (FHG), they are not eligible under the First Home Buyer Guarantee (FHBG)
o Where a borrower is eligible for both the RFHBG or FHG, Gateway may determine which Guarantee to be applied.

Most lenders will allow LMI to be capitalised into their home loan or paid upfront. Gateway Bank is the first bank in Australia to also offer a monthly LMI premium payment option, giving your clients another option to get into the market. 

A Gateway Reverse Mortgage provides an alternative funding option for your clients' retirement. If they're over the age of 65, a Gateway Reverse Mortgage allows them to access the value in their property without the need to sell it or move out. A Reverse Mortgage can be used for a wide range of purposes, whether it be living costs, renovations, holidays, medical costs, refinance and/or consolidation of multiple debts.

A Family Pledge Loan is becoming increasingly popular as it provides an alternative option for a family to assist in the home buying process, without the need to provide a cash gift towards the deposit amount which can be challenging for some. How it works: the guarantor (family member) can use the equity in the property they own as a security guarantee for the loan.

Target Market Determinations (TMDs)

A Target Market Determination is a document which describes who a product is appropriate for (ie that product’s target market) and who it might not be suitable for. The document also covers how the product is distributed to customers and the channels through which it is available, such as branch, online or a third party like a mortgage broker. The document also describes the events or circumstances that would require us to review the TMD for a product to ensure it remains appropriate.

Information for Third party distributors in relation to Gateway Bank products

Persons or entities who engage in Retail Product Distribution under the Design and Distribution Obligation (DDO) laws must report information outlined in the Target Market Determinations within the specified timeframe to Product Issuers.
