The FHBG is an Australian Government initiative that supports eligible first home buyers to purchase an existing home with a deposit of as little as 5% without the need for Lender's Mortgage Insurance (LMI). The NHFIC will then provide a guarantee to the lender covering up to 15% of the property’s value. There will be up to 35,000 loans this financial year. The FHBG can help you buy your first home sooner with a smaller deposit.
Gateway Bank is one of the select lenders able to offer access to the Family Home Guarantee. The FHG enables eligible single parents with at least one dependent child, to enter, or re-enter, the property market, with a deposit of as little as 2%, without the need for Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI). The NHFIC will then provide a guarantee to the lender covering up to 18% of the property’s value.
